Overview 

A proposed 200 km (125 mile) crude oil pipeline, the Heartland Pipeline, will transport crude oil from the Edmonton, Alberta region to facilities near Hardisty, Alta.

Once in operation, it will have the capacity to transport upwards of 900,000 barrels of crude oil per day and will play a key role in connecting Canadian crude oil supplies in Alberta directly to markets.
