Buckeye XPress Project

Overview

Buckeye XPress is part of TransCanada’s ongoing Modernization Program to replace aging infrastructure, upgrade natural gas compression systems and increase pipeline reliability. This pipeline has been slated for modernization because it includes a vital natural gas supply line for Ohio.

The proposed project includes replacing approximately 64 miles (103 km) of its existing 20-inch and 24-inch diameter natural gas pipeline with safer, more reliable, coated pipe. There is also the potential to replace this line with 36-inch diameter pipeline to meet growing market demand in the Appalachian region and beyond.
