TUSCARORA GAS TRANSMISSION

Tuscarora Gas Transmission Company, principally owned by TransCanada subsidiary TC Pipelines LP, is a 229-mile, 20-inch-diameter interstate natural gas pipeline serving customers in Nevada and northwestern California. Tuscarora’s six laterals add another 76 miles of pipeline, bringing the system’s total to 305 miles.

The pipeline has subscribed capacity of 223,000 dekatherms a day (Dth/d), and its customers include utilities, electric generators, municipalities, casinos, and industrial facilities.

Constructed and placed into service in 1995, Tuscarora extends from an interconnection with TransCanada GTN System near Malin, Oregon, to its terminus near Wadsworth, Nevada, where it interconnects with Paiute Pipeline Company.

Tuscarora is regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. It is a Nevada general partnership. Tuscarora is 100 percent owned by TC PipeLines, Ltd. TransCanada operates Tuscarora, and its 38.2 per cent interest in TC PipeLines, LP gives TransCanada a 38.2 per cent ownership interest in the system.

Tuscarora’s six laterals include the Malin Lateral, the Susanville Lateral, the Herlong Lateral, the Empire/US Gypsum Lateral, the Hungry Valley Lateral, and the Tracy Lateral.
