Call Before You Dig

TransCanada's facilities and pipelines are marked with signs at road, rail and river crossings. Please take note of the signs in your area.

TransCanada approvals are required for construction and excavation activities on or near our right-of-way in accordance with legislation. We post signs at road crossings, fence lines, railroads and river crossings to identify TransCanada facilities.

Our natural gas pipelines are buried approximately 32 inches underground. This is to ensure the pipeline is well below normal tillage depths. Occasionally, in non-cultivated areas (such as pastureland), soil erosion may decrease the amount of cover over a pipeline.

Before you dig, whether it's for fence posts, a water well, deep tillage or any other purpose, call at least three days in advance to find out the exact location of pipelines and other utility installations. There is no cost for the call or the work required to locate our underground facilities.
