TransCanada
is proud to be a major sponsor of the 2007
Canada Winter Games, Feb. 23 to March 10, 2007.
Taking place in
Whitehorse, Yukon, these Games will be
the largest event ever held north of the
60th parallel.

supporting Canada's finest amateur athletes, while helping to showcase
the culture and tradition of the North,” says TransCanada president
and CEO Hal Kvisle.
Games at a Glance
TransCanada was the first major sponsor
headquartered outside of the Yukon to officially
join the Games team. Other facts about the upcoming Winter Games:
- an estimated 3,600 participants (athletes,
coaches and officials)
- 22 sports – TransCanada is the exclusive sponsor of men’s
curling and women's hockey
- more than 4,500 volunteers
- 100,000 visitors to venues
- Opening Ceremony on Friday, Feb. 23
- Closing Ceremony on Saturday, March 10
The Games also feature numerous cultural programs including a Northern
arts festival, a visual art exhibition
and the festival celebration site.
