Electronic Document Delivery - Q & A

Registered Shareholders

How secure is my personal information?

No personal information about our shareholders (i.e., name, address, holdings, SIN, etc.) is reflected on our website. Shareholders are not identified; only holder account numbers are used and there is no possible way to associate that information with specific shareholders.

If I register to receive documents electronically, can I still get paper copies?

Yes. To request a paper copy of any of these documents at no cost, please contact:

TransCanada c/o Computershare
100 University Ave., 9th Floor
Toronto, Ont., Canada M5J 2Y1
Phone: 1.800.340.5024
E-mail: transcanada@computershare.com

Will I have to sign up for this every year?

No. Your enrolment for electronic delivery of material will remain in effect until you cancel your enrolment. You are free to cancel your enrolment at any time.

I currently have more than one account and as a result, receive multiple copies of your documents. Will electronic document delivery help to resolve this?

Electronic document delivery will reduce the amount of mail you receive; however, if you are currently receiving multiple mailings from TransCanada, it is likely because you have several accounts registered in a different way (e.g., John Doe, John R. Doe or J.R. Doe). We are required to set up each name as a separate account.

As a first step to reduce multiple mailings, you will need to consolidate your accounts. To do so, contact Computershare Trust Company of Canada, our transfer agent and registrar, in writing to request consolidation of your holdings into one account. Please ensure the different registrations are for the same person (not a father and son, for example). Computershare will contact you if further information is required.

Non-Registered Shareholders

How secure is my personal information?

No personal information about our shareholders (i.e., name, address, holdings, SIN, etc.) is reflected on our website. Shareholders are not identified; only holder account numbers are used and there is no possible way to associate that information with specific shareholders.

Will I have to sign up every year?

No. Your enrolment for electronic delivery of material will remain in effect until you cancel your enrolment. You are free to cancel your enrolment at any time by advising Computershare in writing. Please record your confirmation number and PIN (personal identification number) for future use.

I currently have more than one account and as a result, receive multiple copies of your documents. Will electronic document delivery help to resolve this?

Electronic document delivery will reduce the amount of mail you receive; however there are a number of reasons why you may be receiving multiple sets of annual report information packages. For example, it may depend on the instructions you have given your broker. As TransCanada is not informed as to the identity of non-registered shareholders, duplicate mailings will occur if material is sent to you via your investment firm as well as from TransCanada when you have identified yourself as a shareholder to us.

Multiple mailings will also occur if you have more than one shareholder account with your broker(s). You may also have more than one person in your household who owns TransCanada shares. Current legislation requires that we provide an annual information package to all of TransCanada shareholders, even if they are in one household. This same requirement will apply to electronic distribution of documents.
