Alberta System 2010 Interim Rate Application - November 16, 2009

NOVA Gas Transmission Ltd. (NGTL) today filed an application with the National Energy Board (NEB) requesting the following interim rates for the Alberta System, effective January 1, 2010.

ALBERTA SYSTEM RATES

1. Based on the Average FT-R Rate for a three-year term. Receipt Point Specific FT-R Rates will vary between the floor rate and ceiling rate, as well as due to contract term selected.
2. Export delivery services are contracted for and charged in energy. For rate calculation purposes, export delivery contracts are converted to volume using a system average heat value of 37.8 MJ/m3.
3. Full path Ex-Alberta Rate shown above is the sum of the average FT-R Rate for a three year term and the FT-D Rate.

NGTL currently provides services under 2009 interim rates and has filed an application with the NEB (on October 30, 2009) requesting 2009 interim rates be made final.

The 2010 Interim Rates have been calculated based on the 2009 revenue requirement which underpins the 2009 Interim Rates, as approved by the NEB in Decision AO-1-TG-01-2009, adjusted for estimated deferral account balances. 

The 2010 Interim Rates are based on the following:

• A 2010 interim revenue requirement of $1,205.6 Million and
• A 2010 contract demand and throughput forecast, which takes into account the most recent market information available to NGTL.
