Coordinated Non-Binding Open Seasons for TransCanada a Success

TransCanada recently held a coordinated non-binding open season, which included its wholly or partially owned entities – the Canadian Mainline, ANR Pipeline Company, ANR Storage Company, Great Lakes Gas Transmission and Portland Natural Gas Transmission System.

The coordinated non-binding open season was a success, with TransCanada and its affiliates receiving expressions of interest for over 1.5 Bcf/day of capacity. This follows on the heels of the exceptional results of ANR Storage Company’s non-binding storage open season, in which expressions of interest were received for over 60 Bcf of natural gas storage in Michigan.

The non-binding open season sought expressions of interest and input from customers for existing and new transportation and storage capacity. These routes will enhance the ability of growing markets in the U.S. Northeast and Eastern Canada to access supply from major basins in North America. The objective is to provide customers with a variety of coordinated transportation and storage options to acquire supply, including new supply from the U.S. Rockies and Mid-continent shale plays, on a cost-effective and timely basis. TransCanada is evaluating the bids to determine the appropriate path forward to meet the requests.
