TransCanada Integrates B.C. and Foothills Pipeline Systems

Background:

TransCanada received NEB final approval on March 21, 2007 to complete the integration of the B.C. System with Foothills Zone 8. Foothills Zone 8 and the B.C. System extend 170.7 km from Alberta’s western border through B.C. and connects with TransCanada’s GTN System at Kingsgate, B.C. They serve markets in B.C. as well as the Pacific Northwest, California and Nevada. The transfer of the B.C. System assets to Foothills Zone 8 took place on April 1, 2007.

Implications:

  • There will be no interruption of service or operation as a result of this integration on April 1, 2007.
  • Some terms and conditions of service will change effective April 1, 2007 which may impact customers.  A summary of the tariff changes is available, more...  The complete integrated tariff is also available, more...
  • Integration of the pipeline assets into the Foothills System will eliminate some administrative functions specifically related to the B.C. System and is expected to save upwards of $1 million annually.
  • The content of the B.C. and Foothills pages on Customer Express will be changing over the next few months to reflect the integration. This change may affect any existing bookmarks you currently have to these pages. Please refer back to this page for updates on the changes.
