TransCanada welcomes Zafir Samoylove in his new role as Sales & Marketing Representative for Commercial East - Canadian Pipelines.

Zaf will work with the Calgary-based producer marketer community across the Canadian Mainline System. He will assist in managing the Mainline's Open Season process and Great Lakes TBO releases with an objective to find ways to increase efficiency and create opportunities for customers. He’ll also help to develop new services and work with Operations to maximize capacity. Zaf will report to Wendy Simpson, Manager, Commercial East of the Canadian Pipelines division.

Zaf has an open and proactive approach that he believes is key to successful customer relationships. “I’m excited about the opportunities and challenges we have in front of us,” says Zaf. “Being an advocate for our customers is very important to me. Gathering feedback from customers, facilitating open discussions, educating stakeholders on key issues and customer concerns, and brainstorming improvements to services and processes not only make our customers business more successful, but also builds and strengthen the relationships we have with them.”

Zaf has over 13 years of experience with TransCanada. He has a wealth of knowledge honed from his days working in System Design where he evaluated facilities for connecting supply and markets to NGTL systems and on the Mainline as a Sr. Operations Engineer. During that time he was responsible for a wide range of assignments including helping to build the communications protocols between Ontario’s Electrical System Operator (IESO) and the three major pipelines feeding gas into Ontario; coordinating the Open Season process for FT and STFT transportation sales; helping create and develop new services and products for TransCanada’s Mainline customers; and was a primary Operations contact for Mainline regulatory and Task Force initiatives.
