TransCanada is proud to have recently gained recognition from four prominent Canadian business magazines.
In the past two months, TransCanada was listed in The Financial Post's annual "FP 500 largest Canadian corporations" survey, Canadian Business magazine's annual "Investor 500 top large-cap companies" survey, Corporate Knights' "50 best corporate citizens" survey and Alberta Venture magazine's "Most-Respected Companies" public opinion poll.
The public opinion poll in Alberta Venture magazine ranked TransCanada 20th in a list of Alberta's most-respected companies. Companies topping this survey tend to have more consumer-based interaction. For a business-to-business company like TransCanada to rank so highly in a public opinion poll is a significant achievement.
On the financial front, the Financial Post ranked TransCanada 23rd in market capitalization, 38th in one-year profit margins and 58th in the top 500 list based on revenue for the 2005 fiscal year, up three positions from last year's rankings.
Of the top 50 large-capital companies in the Canadian Business survey, TransCanada ranked 21st in profits, 28th in market capital, 48th in total revenue and 35th overall. The companies were ranked by one-year total return, market value and performance.
