> Steve Pohlod: An Eastern Focus
TransCanada congratulates Steve Pohlod in his new role as Vice President, Commercial East of the Canadian Pipelines division. Steve is responsible for meeting the commercial needs and relationships with our current and prospective customers for the Canadian Mainline System and our interest in Trans Quebec and Maritimes Pipelines Inc. (TQM).

"In my past roles in Marketing and Business Development, I had the opportunity to work with many different customers in diverse areas on a variety of opportunities. I am now looking forward to understanding and meeting the needs of the market on our Canadian Mainline," says Steve. "Ensuring customers have access to supply and market and continuing to develop new services to meet their needs is a primary focus."

Steve's most recent role at TransCanada was Director of Western Market Development. In that role since 2000, Steve provided strategic guidance in the development of services, tariffs and rates, industry negotiations for TransCanada's Alberta and BC Systems. He led TransCanada's participation in collaborative industry committees, represented TransCanada in regulatory proceedings and managed TransCanada's interface with industry associations.

With close to 25 years of energy and engineering experience, Steve has held a number of management positions since joining TransCanada in 1989.

From 1998 to 1999, Steve was Senior Vice-President Gas Supply, for TransCanada Energy. He oversaw many aspects of the Netback Pool, a business that marketed the aggregated supply from hundreds of Canadian natural gas producers. He was also responsible for the coordination of industry committees and regulatory policy development. Prior to this, Steve was Director, Europe for TransCanada International Limited, responsible for TransCanada's European business development activities. From 1989 to 1996, he held increasingly senior positions at TransCanada Gas Services Limited.

Prior to joining TransCanada, Steve worked in the engineering areas of Dome Petroleum Limited and Amoco Canada Petroleum Ltd. for nine years.

Steve is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta. He holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from Montreal's McGill University.
