TransCanada received National Energy Board (NEB) final approval on March 21, 2007 to integrate the B.C. System with Foothills Zone 8. This integrated system extends 170.7 km from Alberta’s western border through B.C. to an interconnection with TransCanada’s GTN System at Kingsgate, B.C. and serves markets in B.C., the Pacific Northwest, California and Nevada. The transfer of the B.C. System assets to Foothills Zone 8 took place on April 1, 2007.
As a result of the integration, customers should be aware of the following:
- There will be no interruption of service or operation as a result of this integration.
- Some terms and conditions of service changed effective April 1, 2007 which may impact some customers. A summary of the tariff changes and the complete integrated tariff is available on the Customer Express website.
- Integration of the pipeline assets into the Foothills System will eliminate some administrative functions specifically related to the B.C. System and is expected to reduce costs.
- The content of the B.C. and Foothills pages on Customer Express will be changing over the next few months to reflect the integration.
“We are committed to make the transition as smooth as possible for our customers, says Patrick McCausland, manager of Marketing. “Customers will be able to find detailed information about the changes to the B.C. and Foothills pages on the Customer Express website. While the major changes to Customer Express won’t be happening right away, customers should be aware that the changes may eventually affect any existing bookmarks they currently have to these pages.”
