Customer Express
Look for the new Customer Express website and Toll Calculator in early 2008.

Improvements are well under way to update the Customer Express website and Toll Calculator. We’re currently in the process of revising these tools to improve the technology platform and incorporate new content.

“The Customer Express website and Toll Calculator have been extremely well received by customers and stakeholders across North America,” says Patrick McCausland, Manager of Marketing. “We’ve seen a steady increase in traffic since the site was launched in 2004. One interesting statistic is the fact that 69 per cent of the visits are now from the United States.”

Features being built into the new Customer Express site will include:

  1. Improvements in website navigation to facilitate increasing content
  2. Incorporation of a content management system, which will ensure a platform for managing growing content in an efficient and reliable manner
  3. Scalable design that allows easy incorporation of new systems, such as GTN, Northern Border and ANR/GLGT
  4. An increased focus on content, such as capacity and Open Seasons

TransCanada.com website statistics:

  • Visits to TransCanada.com are up 57 per cent overall from last year
  • In January 2007 alone, TransCanada.com received over 117,000 visits
  • 69 per cent of these visits came from the United States
  • The commercial web pages, such as Customer Express, Alberta Systems, Mainline and Transmissions account for more than 50 per cent of the visits. 2007 activity on these web pages has increased anywhere from 14 to 50 per cent over 2006 levels.

One of the key applications found on Customer Express is the Toll Calculator. The Toll Calculator is also being revised to incorporate ANR pipeline and storage content. The Toll Calculator is a planning tool that helps users to understand the transportation costs from a receipt point to a delivery point, allowing changes to currency and units. It also provides fields that allow for inserting gas prices to determine potential net forward / back. The original Toll Calculator was launched in June 2005.

“Many customers have been involved in providing feedback on the original websites, and a lot of those suggestions have been incorporated into the new design,” says Perry Coultrup, web project business champion. “We’re making great progress, and customers can expect to see the new Customer Express website and Toll Calculator early in 2008.”
