TransCanada recently announced the commencement of a coordinated non-binding open season. This process allows us to seek expressions of interest and input from customers regarding existing and new capacity that will enhance the ability of growing markets in Eastern Canada and the U.S. Northeast to access supply from major basins in North America. TransCanada, along with its wholly or partially owned entities (ANR Pipeline Company, ANR Storage Company, Great Lakes Gas Transmission (GLGT), Portland Natural Gas Transmission System (PNGTS) and the Canadian Mainline) are participating in this coordinated non-binding open season.
Utilizing our Canadian pipeline system and recently acquired U.S. pipeline and storage infrastructure, TransCanada seeks to provide customers with a variety of coordinated transportation and storage options to acquire supply, including new supply from the U.S. Rockies and Mid-continent shale plays, on a cost-effective and timely basis. TransCanada will utilize existing capacity supplemented as necessary with new facilities on any of the TransCanada assets.
The Project would provide for delivery of such supplies to a diverse market base including:
- Eastern Canadian market points served by the TransCanada Canadian Mainline system
- Northeast U.S. markets accessed via export points served by the TransCanada Canadian Mainline system and downstream affiliated pipelines (IGTS at Iroquois/Waddington, PNGTS at East Hereford/Pittsburg)
- Midwest U.S. markets served off of the ANR and GLGT systems
- Southeast U.S. markets accessed by ANR via major Gulf Coast pipeline interconnects
TransCanada is looking for expressions of interest from customers for any desired services on these systems for capacity starting on November 1, 2009 or later.
