> Mainline Renewals
On April 30, 2003 customers chose to renew approximately 52 per cent, or more than 800 TJ/d, of Firm Transportation contracts scheduled to expire on October 31, 2003.

Non-renewal of Firm Transportation contracts on the Mainline is not expected to have a significant impact on total flows on our system. Some customers will likely re-contract using a variety of service options currently available - i.e. Firm Transportation (FT), Short Term Firm Transportation (STFT), or Interruptible Transportation (IT).

Currently the Mainline System has excess capacity, allowing customers the flexibility to make re-contracting decisions closer to October 31, 2003, when current contracts expire.

TransCanada's 2003 tolls are to be decided in a National Energy Board (NEB) hearing that is still underway, and we expect some customers may be waiting for a decision by the NEB, concerning the Mainline 2003 Tolls Application, before choosing their re-contracting options. The NEB will also decide on the pricing of TransCanada's IT services. TransCanada has sought to increase the bid floor price of IT from 80 per cent of the FT toll to 110 per cent of the FT toll.
