Alberta
System Annual Plan
|
|
The
annual plan is prepared at the end of each calendar year
to provide the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB),
Alberta System (NGTL) customers and other interested parties
a comprehensive overview of the Alberta pipeline system
requirements for the next design cycle. |
The
December 2001 plan includes facilities for the 2002/03 Gas
Year and the winter season of the 2003/04 Gas Year.
The December
2001 annual
plan can be accessed on the TransCanada web site.
The annual
plan includes descriptions of the Alberta System design assumptions
and criteria, as well as the long term outlook for field deliverability,
firm service (FS) productive capability, gas deliveries as
well as proposed facilities requirements for the 2002/03 Gas
Year and the winter season of the 2003/04 Gas Year. Capital
expenditures, revenue requirements and firm transportation
(FT) demand rates are limited to the years 2001 and 2002,
consistent with NGTL's 2001 and 2002 Alberta Rate Settlement,
which expires December 31, 2002.
"This
is the twelfth annual plan for the Alberta System and it continues
to be an excellent tool with respect to our collaborative
process and assisting in the timely approval of facilities
required to meet our customers on-stream date." says Rob Jack,
Manager, Regulatory and Design Coordination.
The Alberta
System's October 2001 design forecast of gas delivery and
FS productive capability serves as the major input to the
system design for the 2002/03 Gas Year and winter season of
the 2003/04 Gas Year. The primary factors affecting Alberta's
facilities requirements for the 2002/03 Gas Year and the winter
season of the 2003/04 Gas Year are:
- the
increase in design flows in the Peace River Design Area
- growth
in Alberta deliveries combined with flat to declining FS
productive capability in the North & East Project Area
- an
increase in demand resulting in new firm transportation
Service Agreements at the Alberta/BC Export Delivery Point.

Year and the winter season of the 2003/04 Gas Year. Also listed
is a facility addition, Drywood Compressor Station, for the
2001/02 reprojected summer design flows.
The costs
for the proposed facilities will be incurred in the 2002 and
2003 calendar years. Customers and other interested parties
are encouraged to communicate their suggestions and comments
