> Mainline Interim Tolls Amended

In February 2005, TransCanada achieved an unopposed resolution at the Tolls Task Force (TTF) in favour of a reduction of approximately seven per cent to the Mainline 2005 interim tolls in effect since January 1, 2005.

On February 10, 2005, TransCanada filed this unopposed resolution with the National Energy Board (NEB) in support of an application to amend the Mainline 2005 interim tolls, which the NEB approved on February 16, 2005. The amended interim tolls come into effect March 1, 2005.

As part of the TTF's current resolution, which supported the initial 2005 interim tolls, TransCanada committed to apply to the NEB to revise the interim tolls in the event changed circumstances impact the Eastern Zone Interim Toll by an amount in excess of 3¢/GJ.

The amendment to the 2005 interim tolls, reflects updated cost estimates for 2005 and a revised projection for Discretionary Miscellaneous Revenue. As the amended interim tolls better reflect the costs anticipated for 2005, the interim revenue adjustment amount that will need to be incorporated in the determination of final tolls for 2005 should be minimized.
