> Changes Proposed for TQM Pipeline
Trans Quebec and Maritimes (TQM) Pipeline's operations were contracted to TransCanada as of January 1, 2003, ensuring continued low costs for customers.

TransCanada and Gaz Métropolitain Inc. are equal partners in the 572-kilometre pipeline system in Quebec. The partners agreed to contract out TQM Pipeline's field operations and some other functions. In doing this, we can reduce the cost of operating TQM Pipeline using the economies of scale and best practices from TransCanada.

"We are always looking for ways to keep our customers' costs low, whether it be TransCanada's Mainline and Alberta Systems or our affiliated pipelines," says Paul MacGregor, TransCanada's representative on the TQM Pipeline management committee. "We believe we can provide significant savings by having some functions performed by TransCanada."
