> At CERI in March
Where is the natural gas industry going? TransCanada is pleased to again support the annual Canadian Energy Research Institute (CERI) North American Natural Gas Conference and Calgary Energy Show. This conference held on March 3 and 4 in the Lower Level of the Telus Convention Centre, will address "Natural Gas Markets: The Path Ahead".

TransCanada has been a supporter of CERI for some time. CERI is a co-operative research organization established by government and industry parties in 1975. Their goal is to undertake objective, independent research studies to assist corporations and governments in making energy-related decisions and policy choices.

As a sponsor of the conference and as a supporter of CERI, TransCanada will host a booth exhibit promoting it's gas transportation as well as power products and services. Please come by booth #69 & 70, located along the main public entrance aisle at the intersection of the centre cross aisle. If you mention that you read this article in Update, you will be entered in a draw.

"This year's two-day natural gas conference and energy show looks at natural gas in North America as the 'fuel of choice' with traditional and new uses such as electricity generation and oil sands production," says Dave Donald, Exhibitor Liaison, CERI. The conference will address these and other related issues, such as:

  • Pipeline Infrastructure
  • New Realities of Energy Trading
  • The Financial Health of the Industry
  • Frontiers and New Sources

"In association with the conference program, the concurrent tradeshow 'The Calgary Energy Show', formerly 'Calgary GasExpo', was established in 1995 and has enjoyed continual success as the premier natural gas marketing tradeshow in Canada," says Dave. "As the natural gas industry has changed, the event name too has changed. The new name is now a better reflection of the expanded scope of the event to include the power sector and other alternative energies.".

"This CERI conference and energy show is the one natural gas event in Calgary that targets a large number of industry participants," says Steve Clark, Vice President Gas Development and Director, Sales and Marketing, TransCanada. "This event gives us an opportunity to build on our relationships with our customers as well as exchange valuable information on industry issues and specific strategic plans."
