Customers now have the option not to build costly CO2
extraction facilities as well as see the potential reduction
of CO2 content in the Alberta
System from the current level. For more details about
the service, please refer to the October issue of Update.
Since the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB)
approved the CO2 Management Service
in late September, we have had the opportunity to discuss
any concerns customers may have with the new service,
and have begun the implementation process.
What's new?
- The stations with CO2 content
in excess of our 2% tariff spec ('CO2
stations') were identified
- All Common Stream Operators (CSO's) for the stations
were contacted (letters and dialogue).
- We have assisted the participants at these CO2
stations in identifying service requirements and executing
contracts.
- Training information and sample allocation forms
were faxed to the CSO Production Accountants for CO2
stations. This information is also available on our
Transmission
web site.
- We have developed the systems to manage allocations
and contract data for the CO2
Management Service.
What's Next?
- The service begins for the January 2003 production
month.
- We will fax the CO2 Allocation
Form (CAF) to the CO2 stations
by February 10, 2003 at 17:00 (MST).
- Completed allocation forms are due back to TransCanada
on February 18, 2003 at 12:00 noon (MST).
- Monthly distribution and submission deadlines for
the CAF's will follow the current Alberta
Gas Balance Schedule.
