On March 31, 2008, TransCanada filed an application with the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) for approval of a two-year revenue requirement settlement and final rates for 2008. 

The settlement, as agreed to through discussions with Alberta System stakeholders, establishes methodologies for calculation of the 2008 and 2009 Alberta System revenue requirements.  The revenue requirement for each year will be determined using the agreed to fixed cost components, plus the Alberta System forecast for the flow through cost amounts, along with the deferral accounts for various revenues and costs.

Based on the 2008 revenue requirement as determined through the settlement, TransCanada is proposing that 2008 final rates remain the same as the 2008 interim rates which were approved by the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) in late 2007.
