TransCanada presented its second donation to Quebec’s AirMedic infant and child evacuation program on January 31. The $100,000 cheque brought TransCanada’s total support of the non-profit group to $200,000 to date. TransCanada has committed to make a third donation next year.
“Supporting organizations like AirMedic aligns with TransCanada’s goals related to safety and community investment,” says David Cossette, Major Projects Department. “Air Medic covers most of Quebec and provides a vital service in areas touched by several TransCanada projects and operations. By partnering with them, TransCanada continues to show its support of the communities where we work and live.”

In Quebec, “community investment is an important factor in our dealings with municipalities and provincial regulators,” explains David. “Our donation to AirMedic is one more feather in our cap which we can display proudly.”

AirMedic provides air ambulance service, evacuation and patient transport services. AirMedic also transports organs and patients needing transplants, as well as medical teams who need to travel urgently.

TransCanada is a founding partner of the AirMedic Programme des enfants (Program for Children).

Last year, AirMedic evacuated 248 patients, of which 32 (13 per cent) were children.
