Tanghe Creek Lateral Loop (Sloat Creek Section)

The approved Tanghe Creek Lateral Loop (Sloat Creek Section) is approximately 38 kilometres (km) of 48 inch diameter pipeline, with a maximum allowable operating pressure of 8450 kPa. The pipeline would parallel the existing Tanghe Creek Lateral from the proposed Hidden Lake North Compressor Station at SW 32-96-11-W6M to a tie in point SW 31-96-7-W6M. The proposed pipeline route is located approximately 100 km northwest of Manning, Alberta, and is required to meet customer demand for incremental transportation service of sweet natural gas.


Status and Timelines

  • Began environmental and technical analysis - August 2010
  • Began Aboriginal and stakeholder engagement - August 2010
  • Began survey and environmental field studies - September 2010
  • Submitted section 58 application to the NEB - February 2011
  • Received regulatory approvals - July 2011
  • Pipeline construction started - December 2011
  • Pipeline to be in-service - April 2012
