Power Purchase Arrangements

Through Power Purchase Arrangements (PPA) TransCanada gains exclusive rights to the generation capacity of a power plant. We then sell the associated energy (or the capacity itself) in the marketplace. As a PPA holder, TransCanada is obligated to pay the costs of making the capacity available and producing the electricity.

Wind Power Generation

Cartier Wind Energy has agreements totalling 590 MW of wind power projects located in the Gaspésie-Iles-de-la-Madeleine region and the Regional County Municipality of Matane in the province of Québec.
